Sanctuary Resource Specialist, ZP-0401-3 (MAP)

As a Sanctuary Resource Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Support the development, implementation and coordination of sanctuary resource protection programs, including marine spill response and preparedness and sanctuary marine debris efforts. Implement the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary (OCNMS) permitting program to mitigate wildlife disturbances, protect habitat, and improve water quality and resource protection on behalf of a marine sanctuary. Assist with National Marine Sanctuaries Act (NMSA) 304(d) consultations and the development of National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 Programmatic Agreements, reviews external National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) documents, and participates in inter-agency consultations. Assist with priority research activities and responsibilities, including fieldwork and associated data management, in support of OCNMS programs. Support OCNMS climate initiatives, including Olympic Coast Ocean Acidification Sentinel Site efforts, by developing and sustaining partnerships. EDUCATION:
To qualify at the 0401 series:
Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. -AND-SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the ZP-3 level:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (ZP-2) or GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Coordinating or leading a resource protection program focusing on coastal or marine protected areas including spill/emergency response, marine debris, climate change, and/or ocean acidification; Fostering and maintaining partnerships to support marine resource protection; Conducting field research including data collection, data entry and report writing; and Implementing laws and regulations that have a bearing on marine resource management and protection, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND
Experience:
A combination of education and experience as described above. Note:
Only graduate education in excess of 2 full year is qualifying for combination of education and experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
