Maintenance Worker Supervisor

This position is within the Facility Management Program, Olympic National Park, and supervises the Buildings and Utilities operations for multiple sub-districts of the park. The purpose of the position is to supervise the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of facilities including all buildings, campgrounds, solid waste, water and wastewater treatment facilities across nine primary sub-districts:
Staircase, Hurricane Ridge, Heart o' the Hills, Headquarters, Elwha, Ozette, Mora, Hoh, and Quinault. Duties include staffing, direction, performance and conduct monitoring, and development, as well as technical support, work prioritization and long-range planning. The position is supervised by the Buildings and Utilities Program Manager. Responsibilities Supervising positions performing buildings, campgrounds, and utility operations and maintenance work for sub-districts of Olympic National Park. Inspecting the completion of maintenance and repair work for park grounds and facilities. Ensuring necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment and tools are available when needed. Utilizing Facility Management computer software tools to plan and track operation and maintenance of campgrounds. To qualify, there is no specific length of training or experience required; however, your resume must demonstrate enough experience to show your ability to perform the duties of a Maintenance Worker Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Examples of such experience include:
(1) inspecting facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance; (2) preparing weekly maintenance schedules and allocating work; (3) inspecting and maintaining building systems (heating, ventilation etc.); (4) contributing to the development of a maintenance budget; and (5) monitoring inventory of materials and equipment. Physical effort is usually part of the job such as when assisting maintenance employees make repairs or loading supplies to deliver to area maintenance workers. Walking, bending and heavy lifting is required. Will have to lift loads up to 50 pounds. Work Environment:
Much time is spent in office settings. Driving to check work, assist subordinate employees, or provide materials will be a regular occurrence. Work will sometimes be outdoors in cold temperatures and heavy rain.
