Information Technology Specialist

You will manage the Information Technology (IT) program for Olympic National Park and provide assistance to all parks covered by the North Coast Cascades Network IT support agreement. Work includes:
All aspects of managing wide area network and local area network systems (fiber optic, cellular, satellite); Maintaining voice over internet and analog phone systems; Configuring, operating, troubleshooting, diagnosing and maintaining a variety of local hardware/software; Help desk operations and user account administration; IT infrastructure planning, upkeep, replacement; Managing IT security assurance; Coordinating IT backup procedures to protect data and access; and Providing training to users on IT operations/changes To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
1) designing, planning and implementing complex computer and communications systems; integrating computer systems components, such as, databases, software, and hardware; 2) analyzing systems requirements in response to business requirements, risks, and costs; 3) evaluating, selecting, verifying, and validating systems software and hardware environments; and 4) managing communication systems, multiple local area networks (LANs), and wide area network (WAN). Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
