Summary:
Performs quality checks of specific document types created by providers in our Electronic Medical Record.
Verifies that all required elements are present and checks for any statements that need corrections/clarification.
Creates Epic chart deficiencies for the providers who need to add elements or correct/clarify statements.
Performs quality checks on scanned documents in Epic and send back to HIM scanners to correct if needed.
Assists with purging of old medical records.
Transcribes diagnostic imaging reports, as well as provider reports dictated during Epic down time from hand-held recorders.
Qualifications:
Education High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of Medical Terminology course preferred.
Experience 1.
One year general hospital medical transcription experience.
2.
Proficient demonstrated skill in typing and transcription of dictated reports with minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
3.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
